Similar to the brand name drugs as opposed to the generics. Once the drug company has done all the research and such, all Walgreen's has to do is wait for the patent to expire and the formula is duplicated and sold at a fraction of the price.

    No, it is not.

Agree with JPEROG, free, competitive market will determine the price. Quality of product will decide longevity.

Drag 4's and Drag 5's. I sell them both. I am going to try a new Hill 5 blade though.

    Randy,

Is the gear case shape quite a bit different between the 300xs and 300R?

I wouldn't think the prop would care how the HP is made, but you needed such different props is telling ...

300r got the larger diameter sportmaster HD that was previously used only on the 400r. It’s designed to run very high, so you need more prop blade area to keep the slip in check.

    Thank you engineermike

I think Wildman's testing is great because he has run that same hull with so many combinations

I believe the problem is not so much the gearcase. The 400R and 300R have the same case. The standard smaller diameter props work on the 400, but not on the 300. I think the issue is that the ew 4.6 ltr motor puts out so much more exhaust that the prop can't hook up. It can't be the torque either because that is not really an issue at 90 mph. I have run the 400 on a 21 Liberator at the same motor hieght as the 300R and the 400 hooks up great with a 14.5" x 32" Drag 4. 300R just slips at 20%.

My experience was little different with the 400r. My slip numbers are terrible with any 4-blade (bravo, blaster, and pro max), but much better with 5 blades (p5x, Maximus, and max5). My boat also gained about 4 mph going from 4 to 5 blades. I’m sure the hull has a lot to do with it.

On the 21 Liberator, a 14.5" Drag 4 went 108 at 7200 with two of us and 1/2 tank gas. About 11-12% slip. I never ran a CNC on the 400 though

    Hi,

    Thanks for the great news.

Is there a chance that Hill Propeller will offer a 26 pitch in the future?

    Cheeers, Toffen

He will have a set next week, but I just sold them. He will have more in 2 weeks. Also, free exchange if you need 36's. He will have 36's in 2 weeks also.
