Removing trolling motor and or poking platform
Anyone have mph gain numbers on removing trolling motor and or poling platform on a flats boat?

Most lake and bay's I have worked on get about 5 mph by removing the platform, batts, and troll motor.
83 V-King, 96 Mariner, 200 hp ff block 2.5 w/a 28p choppa

No. Only gains a few r's. the wind resistance of the platform and the weight removed from the bow gives bow lift and less wetted area does the job. Maybe a little less trim is needed. What boat are you running?

Sterling 220xs 300r from what I’ve heard motor won’t over rev so I have to over prop to start and dial it in.
