I agree on the most expensive break down but I have boats US towing and when the axle broke on the donzi the boat was delivered home free. I do believe buy American but a buddy down here has a tundra 5.7 he fishes crazy has 26 cc with twin 4 strokes and carries a mininum of 500 lbs of beer outriggers a heavy load and he has had zero problems. When you need a truck a suv does not work. Good luck in your search. Rick

Unlike my old tractor motor 12v in the typical first gen dodge with no dash left. The newer diesels like Paul’s drive like a car, quiet too. Would make light work of that 25 and never have to downshift or turn OD off on hills. If that’s the heaviest thing you will row probably overkill though. I had a 30 proline towed every weekend weighed 16k on the trailer and went up the skyway no problem at 70.

I would seriously research doing a mechanical delete of the MDS if you get a 5.3. Cam failure will take most expensive breakdown to a new level!

I guess you want a Toy, not a Tool.
Last gas motor in a pick up for me was a 1990 350 Chev 4x4 1500, toy truck. We have invented the world; WE see

Smaller truck, short box 4dr, 4x4, towing gear, not too high for loading bed. Don't need tall tires , might see a gravel road, good on regular gas, ...1500 Chev daily driver. Millions of them around

If U get one from the dealer consider purchasing an extened warranty policy. Purchased my Terrain new + easycare($1400) and covered for 75K miles including tire blowouts. $100 deductible!

Insist on original GM part number part or top shelf AC Delco. Sometimes you'll find two or three options.

My system has been working out well for awhile. If any long distance towing needs to be done. Lisa's dailey driver of choice has been ford f 250 4x4 for the last 10 years. I have been trading her f 250's about every 2 1/2 years. New trucks are getting over priced. That has offset itself by a 2 or 3 year old low mileage trade-in is not that much less then i paid for it. For pulling anything 75 miles or less my daily driver bright yellow H2 will pull a building. The 10 mpg keeps My H2 in a 100 mile radius from home. Any out of town trips that does not require a truck. Challenger Hellcat is my car of choice. Last trip to the track a few weeks ago. 10.45 at 133.54 mph. I have driven it on a few 500 mile round trips in the last couple months. Really a great car loaded with options, heated or cooled seats, heated steering wheel, lane change warning, rain sensing wipers, wireless hot spot, and factory Harmon Kardon 16 speaker stereo. Somehow with 800 HP it still gets 21 mpg at 75 mph highway driving.

Might be a toy but damn is it nice!
’2015 w/45k on it.
Factory warranty to ‘2021 or 100k.
Pretty interesting comparing ‘1997 version of near identical truck to 18 yrs of development.
Wow.
Smaller motor yet, 100 more HPs and torgue, near double towing capacity, 7 more MPGs, all aluminum, direct injected, holds 8 1/2 qts of oil etc, etc.
Shot my budget by 75% but couldnt wrap my head around saving $10k and buying one w/twice the miles and no warranty.
Power rear window, sun roof and everything else.
Will take a week to read the owners manual!
A huge bonus was buying from a GMC dealer. The one that sold it orig.
They know this model backwards and forwards.
The truck just sent me an email telling me a tire is low!Last edited by Instigator; 02-03-2019 at 10:37 AM.
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

A one owner, from this dealer, with GPS, remote start, dual zone climate control, folding mirrors, controls on wheel (which I love for trips), hands free phone/text, backup camera, leather, heated/cooled seats/wheel, 6 speed auto, tow/haul mode, integrated trailer brake (elec) controller, 20" wheels, folding bed cover, 9100 lb tow capacity, sway control, pre-wired w/flat 5 way and round trailer plugs, etc, etc.
Couldnt be happier.
Dave, way cool stable.
Did you see Chrysler now offers a 1000hp crate engineLast edited by Instigator; 02-03-2019 at 11:01 AM.

They need to fix the hole in the roof. Or is that a cistern?
I hope they use bigger brakes than my old 1500 had.Last edited by CUDA; 02-03-2019 at 12:05 PM.
