The old days! First boat I ever owned!
Just saw this old pic. This was in 1975 when I was 21. First boat I ever owned. 1962 Luhrs 28ft Sport fisherman. Wood boat with a flybridge. I paid $1500 for it. I looked a little different back then!

We had a 57 Shepherd runabout Jr. I think it was 16' with a 75 Evinrude push button box. Trailer had swoopy fenders and baby moons. If I can dig up a pic i'll try and post it

Another one of my first boats for the late 80's. This was my first "FAST" boat. Or at least I thought so at the time. 1976 16ft Sidewinder.

Yes I did and I love it. I get about twice the fuel mileage and it idles like a fishing motor. It is much quieter and uses less than half as much oil. So far I have had it to 90 GPS with 4 people in it and 70 MPH cruise is only 4400 RPM @ 7 MPG [6350 Red Line]. I had to install two 1/2" negative trim shims [T&R Marine] to make it come out of the hole easily [32 Yamaha Drag 4 copy/1.62 Gearset]. The negative trim shims also greatly improved rough water handling and gave me another 2 MPH in the No Wake zones [which is a real plus].
I think I can see a 300R 4-stroke a couple of years from now on it due to recently being passed by a Bullet Bass Boat/300R like I was standing still.
