Tom,
Pendergrass propellers/Hooter propellers was bought by Spinelli bros. in the 90's.
We still manufacture Hooter under the Spinelli umbrella in a four blade configuration.
Whats your application?
Best Regards,
Doug

i recently aquired a hooter by Pendergrass propellor. Perfect condition. never heard of them before. No markings onit to tell what pitch it is. 3 blade vented stainless off a 1500 XS motor. only marks on it are "8181"
just wondering what it is and what application it might be for.
thanks

If its the original spline it will have the pitch stamped into the spline crown.
Its good for many applications depends on boat, power and desired application. The 8181 stamp is probably from another repair shop?
Feel free to give us a call if you have more questions.

prop looks absolutley virgin, like it has never been run. no pitch stamped into the top of the hub.

They're mentioned in Earl Bentz's "Bass Boat Bible." I've never personally seen one. Cool name though...

I ran a Hooter for a few years in the early 80's.I ran it on bass boat applications with V-6 OMC and Mercury as well. For me it outperformed other props of the time but had a reputation of slinging blades.Late in the usage period I lost a blade and got it repaired and never had another problem after that.

Anyone interested in buying this prop, message me for pics. I have no use for it.
