    300xs un Alien Cowl

Has anyone done this? Would a 300xs fit under an 300x alien cowl?

As Bill said, yes it will go. Text Todd, he will give you the port side air duct measurements to trim. Ohh wait ... we are still holding our breath on this one ..

Every Stock class outboard has two of them along with several other pleasure boats.

Well If I go this route I will trim to fit, just wanted to make sure. This is one way of increasing my gas tank size

Yes it fits, like 2.5-21 said, you just need to cut the inside of the cowl to make clearance. I have this setup on my boat.

Just put a finger width of grease around the compressor wheel. Set the cowling down over top evenly till it touches. Lift it back off, drill a couple holes just inside the perimeter of the grease pattern. then play connect the dots with a air hacksaw. Smooth out with a tootsie-roll. Touch up the paint where ya run off the road with the .. err .. get a pizza and a few canoli's while daddy George and Kevin do it ...

Would you mind posting pictures of inside one of your cowls?

Todd and Lee Austin Marine came up with a ( actually a couple different renditions ) baffle system to go in the gutted aftermarket cowlings. Ocean running , race boats , running with a lot of mist in the air , getting caught in the rain , etc. tends to send water directly to the alternator.

I have a bass mid so my exhaust plate is exposed so I assume I drill holes in the pan to run the water lines for compressor thru?

I will see if i can get some pictures later today or tomorrow, I ran the intake for the compressor to the front of the cowl with a small air filter.

If by "bass mid", you mean the stock 3.2xs mid section, you can use a stock 2.5 Alien skirt its a direct bolt-on to the 300XS Alien cowl/pan and ties nicely into the stock 300xs style mid... looks factory...

Thanks Mike if you mean it a direct bolt on to the 300X pan thats great and that will hide the compressor lines
