113mph with a 2.4 Modvp. That speed is hard to achieve, must be a really light hull.

Yes the VP s are high compression motors. Hence the reason the run on minuim 100 octane. I think stock was around 195psi.

    LMFAO! Do your homework kid!

have the older Mod VP with Oval Ports and stuff. My block is a bit different than yours too and runs at 195psi's But your people say its not a bridgeport. But when you read this brochure This is a Mod Vp motor as well and its not a bridgeport buy yet it says it has bridgeports. But yet they don't classify it as a bridgeport. I find that interesting.

So this ModV is really a Bridgeport with a hi-po camshaft in it...Wow..I'm going to leave that alone..lol.but I will say this and any Merc 2.4 I've ever seen have flat top pistons in them making the combustion chamber size determine the cylinder pressure...What size cc combustion chamber heads are on this engine ?

If it’s unmolsted it’s an 1987 ish based on the gear case. True mod-vp motors were oval port motors. The cowling not saying “Bridgeport” is correct. 185 psi is about right.

BBY, you are correct. 26cc heads brings that oval port right up to 195 psi. Mine has seen 120 plus mph.
Plus these power heads are really light.
