Need to get a gun safe approximately 500 lbs up a flight of stairs without damaging the steps. Any tips or tricks on how you did it ? As always thank you

Last time I bought a safe, they had rails (think RR) that hooked together for it to slide it on. It had wood with UHMW for the rails. They lubed it with silicon. Up a stairs you better have a winch. AND a good place to anchor it. I am out on that one.

I’d be concerned about the load ratings of the steps and the floor this will be going on. Universal building codes specify 40 pounds per square foot live load but many older homes come in closer to 30 psf. Not knowing the size of the safe but if it’s smaller than 3’ x 4’ you will exceed the floors load rating.

No way I’d wrestle 500 lbs up a flight of wood stairs , brings back memories of the Laurel and Hardey skit of them moving a piano up a flight of steps !!!

Just a thought, on some safes the door comes off without too much trouble. That would knock about 125lbs off. That would be the same as a fat guy (375lbs) going up the stairs.

Find a motorized hand truck to rent. Or hire someone who is bonded.
I remember seeing a hand truck that had 3 wheels on each side that allowed it to climb stairs.
    Found some on Amazon.

Here's a bunch of UTube vids of stair climbers.

I had a gun safe taken down my cellar stairs, I believe about 13 steps in total, the store I purchased had the electric dolly and did it in less than 5 minutes with out 1 scratch. Not sure of the total weight but it was for about 30 guns and wasn't a cheep one, close to $2k for the safe and about $100 for the install.
