Cook and clean. I've just assembled a few and had to diagnose different issues. Most of the time it's easy to fix. In this case, without looking at it and actually testing it, it seems to be quality issue.

My PSA lower is here and PSA upper will be in tomorrow so I will marry the two and see what’s up .

Went to AR gun shop yesterday and quizzed the AR guru there about my previous 6.5 Grendel issues I described the many issues and told him I was using Bear Creek upper and colt lower I figured he would freak about the upper quality or lack there of but was the opposite they sold Bear Creek and he was positive about the upper he had delt with at his shop , of coarse he was wishing the pieces were there but the upper is on the way to SC and the Colt lower is now back with it original 223 upper ...

New caliber specific magazine here from Midway with ammo only time will tell ...

Well went to big Houston gun show went to a guys table (exhibit) and he had no less that 25 new uppers for AR platform guns we began to chat and I ran through my issues , he was amazed I was apprehensive and tell him what upper I had chose to marry with this high end colt lower , we’ll just so happened the 25 on his table WAS Bear Creek Arsenal and he said he had sold them for 5 years and hadn’t had any issues ???? He said send the upper to him I said the part was heading back to S.C. for repair , replace , or money back !!!

Mean while back at the ranch , new upper and lower came in from Palmetto State Armory , changed trigger assembled installed 2 different brand magazines this thing cycled like butter . So we will see if BCA will stand behind their product. I asked the guru at the gun show what lower would he marry with the BCA upper when it comes back , he hummed and hawed and seemed like he was avaiding the question ???? Guess when I get the upper back I need to quiz the BCA people about that lower will “work” ..

Hey Jay, glad your new set up is running. The lower shouldn't matter given proper buffer and bolt. All of them should be mil spec, especially PSA. Every mil spec part "should" interchange with every mil spec lower/upper. I've had some issues that came down to swapping parts out to get some to run. So there are always exceptions. But mostly easy fixes. What stock is on the new lower? Fixed, adjustable? Gas block adjustable?

Glad to hear you have a functioning rifle now. The 6.5 Grendel is a great round. The best round for overall use in an AR, IMO. I like the 300Blackout for a SBR.

Well through a bunch of help from Gorilla I have found I’m not the only one having 6.5 Grendel feeding issues , these ASC magizines that supposed to be the best sux , piss poor designed will catch the bullet end and if that gets by that the brass edge hangs , some say they had to grind the edge off and still had intermittent problems I bought a couple of Magpul 223 plastic mags went to range things cycled great 5 rounds in the bulls eye from 100 yards with a new barrel impressed me. Last round still won’t latch breach open when empty , I cracked the adjustable gas block 1/2 round and we will see next time I go to shoot ...

Stop the presses there is a company that’s “fixed” the 6.5 Grendel feeding issue with a custom magazine that is double stacked EXCEPT the first round and it feeds from the middle of the magazine, prototypes working flawlessly on all the AR ‘s they have been tested on , called today and talked to designer they have one more issue to hammer out and it’s the spring strength , should be on marked in 1 month $18.00 ea got my name on 2 .

BTW got text from Bear Creek Arsenal the first upper I had hell with is on the way back , they replaced the complete upper , lifetime warranty , so hope with the new upper , lower and magizine issues addressed I’ll own 2 of these , son in law should get nice Christmas gift !!!!

    Thanks Guys ,
