    1. Think of the power it takes to turn that...
    2. There is nothing small about that case...
    3. People complain about the cost of the motors now...
    4. Take a ride over and see Craig Colabella-those cases aren't bullet proof either...
    5. People in the know are working on a fix for the Merc. prop shafts but its a slow process when its a corporate decision stamp and requires a price hike in their product...

    Hazel ... it's good to see you "guessing" now rather than just making arbitrarily bogus statements. Just kiddin, your sorta right .. they are rare ..
    Honestly, some of the stick mid stuff I built had 2.5 lower units and others had coned OMC for V-6 and V-8 powerheads. I don't think it mattered drag racing them. Neither one broke or was any faster than the other one. ( lower unit wise }

    Whats even funnier is you don't hear any of the Etec guys making 110 mph passes.....

    As far as the top end deal, it's more about gear ratio. Let one of them Wang-Chang-Whoo-Tang-Clan art deco motors have a 1.45:1 cog in it and you'll see them things hangin on the bottom of Merc's .. True speed demons got no conscience when it comes to things like that ...

    Would like to know dyno numbers on Monty's creation, what is the final cubic inch.
    Cuda you know them things are big to start with ...
    Don't his shirts say " Mountain Motor Outboards" or sumptin like that ...

    Sounds like fake news. Go visit Craig and educate yourself... The best thing is that it won't affect you unless you buy a new motor-Is that in the picture? If not, I guess you have no dog in the hunt-

    Whats the over/under on months until honda recalls and redesigns the cowl because people tie the ski rope/tow rope to the wing and it breaks?

    I swear I’ve seen that cowl design on the back of a Honda motorcycle. I’m not a bike guy so I don’t know what model but I think it was a touring bike. Honda does such a good job on everything but outboards. We see engines that are 7-8 years old come through our shop with holes ate through the heads and blocks.
