I think they are getting there but only with modifications from true enthusiasts. Just think BRP had a racing division like Mercury does. OMC did at one time and beat Mercury like a screen door in a hurricane. Some forget that though!

    Monty's STV / E-turd went 130

    Kev's Quartershot goes 118 with a 36" paddlewheel

Lots of cubic inch's , few who know their way around the limiter ...

Baad home fix , top half transom only LOL . Great shine , interior real cherry, wanted it for a project, asking price started at $8900,. We scratched our heads in the factory parts books , no 105 charger found. 85, 115, 140. Likely painted cowl.
Like an old girlfriend, still want it

I'm guessing they did this with either a Merc or BRP lower... Seems the Etecs have the same problem the old V8's had, no decent lower unit options...

You are probably right. To be fair, the 400R and now 300R have shown plenty of gearcase issues themselves with broken propshafts.

You would think they would bite the bullet and do it right, how do you think seven marine does it with a LOT more power.
with a small gear case to boot, they need to get their head out of there behind.
