3-4 yrs ago i sold a guy a 90hp omc rebuilt powerhead at his house and there was the 63 galaxy with a cammer in it that i have seen at a few car shows.Said the motor was in a flat bottom hondo style boat at an auction and he won it for a few hundred bucks. It ran but he modified it so it could run on the street.Offered him 35,000 cash right there and he just laughed and said don't you want the motor too.Car was mint also.

I’ve played with gdi injection timing (4-stroke) on the dyno. With an arbitrary piston and injector design, the power goes to complete crap at high rpm when I ended fuel injection later than about 125 deg btdc on the compression stroke. 2-strokes can’t start injecting until the exhaust port closes, let alone end it, meaning injection timing is MUCH later than anything I did. This just goes to show how absolutely critical the spray pattern, piston geometry, and spark plug location are on a DI 2-stroke.
