3.0L sportmaster prop shaft seal replacement
I need to replace the prop shaft seals. Is pulling the carrier out required or can it be done from the outside?

Best to pull the carrier to do it. I have seen hacks that drill small hole in the seals, screw a screw into them and use a slide hammer to pull it out from the outside. Remember there are at least two seals to remove.

I have Charlie and Ed pull my carrier each year to inspect my gears and replace my seals and water pump, just as insurance.

Pull the carrier there is a seal installer that positions the seals at the correct depth and ensures they are installed square in the carrier.

I guess I will run it over to Colabella and have him reseal it. I was just hoping to avoid the 4 hour round trip in the car over just a couple of seals.
