Crazy Expensive Key Fob
So my daughter buys a 2015 Toyota Rav4 that only has one key, the kind with the door locks, help and rear hatch buttons. I call Toyota and they want $250 for one, I call a locksmith and they want $300 for one. I do a little research and find I need special Lexus software for this year. I go to ebay buy the key for $20 and a Toyota Mini VCI Cable for $20. The cable came with the link for Lexus Techstream software down load. Have Lowes cut key for nada, $10.00 tip to the girl who refused so I told her to put it in her pocket and throw it away when she left
A little fooling around with the Techstream Wizard and done. Saved a fortune and now I can get into the Toyota computer and change everything from what doors lock when you hit button to how long lights stay on and even how loud the key in lock buzzer is. Lots of cool stuff.

Lowes and Home Depot did cut me a key for $2 for the Rav4 but they did not have a transponder key for it so all it could do was open the doors manually but I ordered the chip for it for 5 bucks on ebay and than using this soft ware coded the chip to the Rav4. I used my dremel and cut a hole in the head of the key and glued the chip in there. Good back up key that will start the car.

Doesn't the eBay Techstream stuff require that you give remote admin access to some hacker in China to install it on your laptop?
