They are probably trying to prevent a rock from getting kicked up and busting a hole in the cheap butt oil filter.........

Should have just done a remote mount on the inner fender. Did that in 88 on a S10 Blazer V8 small block swap from 2.8 v6 wheezy

The dealer bulletin we got didn't say anything about removing a wheel, just access is through the driver's fender. I'll be charging extra if the wheel has to come off though lol.... Guess we'll see at the end of the month

    JMObservation

Toyota= High price and horrible fuel economy
Dodge = Horrible electrics - junk paint but good diesel motors but Dodge don’t manufacture em
I own a dodge Dakota 1997 stays in shop just an e tea vehicle, 80% of the paint peeled , have to replace head light switch once a year , I keep one in the glove box , I owned a Toyota SR-5 was a great little truck but that was before they think they are made of gold and they did get good fuel economy so I’ve owned them ALL

this is is a nobody wins debate but fun to talk about

I have an '08 Suburban, this will be the last Chevy I own. I always buy my vehicles a couple years old (let the depreciation hit) and I didn't do my homework on this one. It is the first gen 5.3 with the AFM. Had to replace the cam and lifters at 100K and decided to do the AFM delete. If I weren't a mechanic, I would have been looking at a minimum repair bill of $5K. Who would put $5K into a 10 year old truck with a value of only $13K? Dealer wants $8K plus labor for a new long block. Next time this thing fails, it's going to the scrap yard. It's a shame too because otherwise it's in great shape.

Yeah like removing the whole cab to work on diesel motor...6.0 diesel
Last 20 some years use Dodge pickups because of Cummins motors, a water pump that took 1/2 hour to replace as far as the motor goes. in over 20 years, have 189,000 on my 09

GM has a new six diesel for 2019 going to wait and see how they run, talking about 30mpg in a full-size truck.

Fords two F750s with Cummins one F800 Cummins T340 Crane 8.3 Cummins see a pattern

Also three 6.6 Duramax , I've spent more on my 2003 C5500 than all the others combined bad heads.
