Tom, I understand completely. I would love to tell you it's a walk in the park but I am honestly telling you I don't know. I only put it in the water one time and it started up fine and when I planted my foot the throttle spring broke and flew by my head so I put it back on trailer and have not tried again since. I got it from Steve Chase (Moomba) and maybe he can tell you more. I gotta think a boat named "Widow Maker" may be a handful but then again someone is running one with a 300 drag successfully. Good luck finding something suitable for that gem of a motor. The perfect fit is out there somewhere. Can't wait to see the final product.

Maybe a long shot, but gutted a CVX-17 to the shell, added core, 2 stringers instead of 1, new transom, styrofoam floor, repainted , lots of pics, built by MTI boats fiberglass guru.

there was only 3 of these 13ft center steering ones ever built. I have the other orange/white one. the other one is yellow/white, and I don't know where it is, hopefully not in a field rotting away. to my knowledge, there never has been one with a 300 on it. the guy that built these had a t2x on the one I have and it ran 106mph. I had a 1500 xs with ssm on mine and it ran 93. yes its a pop of 13ft checkmate. the guy that built these also made approx. 7 other ones, but they were pleasure boats, and bass boats. I have a bunch of pics that I got from the guy that made these, I will try to scan and post pics. this boat is way safer than an Allison of same size, it gives you a heads up when you are pushing it too much. but you still have to be very careful. cool little boats, I would someday like to own all 3.

Great info. I had to research the 300 info I posted as it was something I was told when I bought boat and not something I had seen. Looks like years ago Bill Seebold drove a boat called a Twistercraft with a v6 Merc. It was not the same hull we are discussing it was a tunnel boat that is apparently fairly rare. I know Steve would not have passed on erroneous info intentionally just like I would not try to mislead anyone on this site. Now that that is established xskid did you ever get to see my boat run. Apparently it had a Twister on it before the 150. Were all 3 built with about the same lay-up and do you have any guess as to the real weight? Sorry to hijack your thread but this gentleman knows the boat much better than I and I want to be accurate with my info.

You should sell ME the motor I just acquired a 1 owner G.W. Invader Tunnel. All documentation, and the last Tunnel they ever built.
Very nice motor, agreed it needs to go on something nice. Good luck in your search.God, Country, and Fast Boats

I never seen your boat run, but same as mine, just over 200 lbs hull only. all 3 may vary wee bit in weight, though.
