    WTB Coned Washer

I'm wanting to set my prop back as far as I can on a mercury sportsmaster. Does anyone have a coned washer that can accommodate my needs

I assume you are talking about a thrust washer in which case why not just put a washer with a straight bore (you will be past taper with stock thrust washer) tween the thrust washer and prop. Easily made by any machine shop exactly the dimension your needs require.

The tapper on the washer is close to where the propshaft is weak......Like on on the a car.... the inner bearing takes the hoz load,,,,, the outer just keeps the wheel from falling off. Put offset wheels on and it puts more stress on the inner as the contact patch is moved past the inner bearing......On a car you want the tire center to line up with the load center/ball joints or crazy steering with too much off set.Car stuff....Looking for more speed I understand .... but breaking PS or prop blades is risky.... If you have Fat shaft pay no heed to what I a saying.....
