    X-Flow Rod Bolts

In addition to the carbs I am looking for, I am also looking for 12 good NOS high-strength SPS/CCC rod bolts for a crossflow. Not worried about the money as much as anyone actually having a set (or two) that are not used and still mint. I realize this is a shot in the dark but I would never find them if i didn't at least ask

I wouldnt think an allen head bolt would be higher strength than a 12 point?

They were made with a higher tensile strength material for the racing motors and through Land & Sea but back 25+ yrs ago

Dozen....tried the Seaway route and talked a guy who sent me over to Dave (I think) and he was very polite but couldn't do anything without part numbers, which I don't have, just casting numbers. My buddy tried that route a while ago and had way more info than I do and couldn't come up with anything either. Thanks though!!!! I will try anything at least ONCE

I was seriously thinking that the chance of a high-perf merc bolt fitting/working at all, let alone w/out modifications, would be VERY unlikely and was thinking about giving it a shot as I have nothing to loose but started this thread instead LOL!! I will grab some 141 rod bolts and see if they fit right in, THANKS!!! My only question to you is, I thought the top guided 141's were a 3/8" 12 point head??

I haven't personally seen one break that could be proven to be the rod bolt only that was the cause. I have spun these motors up way higher than designed without any rod bolt issues (I think lol) but this motor I am building means the world to me so I am doing EVERYTHING I can to put the BEST stuff I can get to install in this baby. If some part fails, I will at least know (in theory) there was NOTHING else I could have done to stop it. Prob over kill but 20ish yrs of collecting does not go lightly for me. Top Guided 141 rods came in 260's, 280's, and drags pending on the yr and etc...….they have a 3/8" 12 point head. The shank is thicker in the center of the bolt and the materials is stronger than any crossflow rod bolt ever made IMO. After comparing the two, they are actually very similar, size wise.

cool, are we talking v6 or v4, v4 would have a better life at high revs being even firing
