If u zoom in u can see a very small bevel/chamfer around ea port , it's the shiny part of port, helps from ring snag and kinda acts like port is opening little sooner, I very very reputable builder did mine , dont go over board tho just get rid of sharp edge

So other than beveling the edges so the rings dont catch is there anything else I should do to get more horse power out of this motor.

I’m not real familiar with that mota, so take this with a grain of salt, this is in generic terms. Maybe an OMC guru like racer will step in. On your champhered edges do get too crazy with it to point where it changes the trajectory. On the long transfer ports you want the short side toward exhaust to have just enough to not snag ring, same with the long top side, short side toward booster ports will be laid over pretty good. This helps prevent short circuiting and aid in loop flow up to spark plug. Without changing port timing drastically you can increase the top angle (or a little more beveling) a little on booster ports to give a little more top end power.

When you bevel the ports for the rings, you are mainly just touching up near the surface. If you cut it the the thickness of the sleeve, you are now messing with the port angles and need to be careful doing that, being that can change the characteristics of the ports, either for the good or for the bad. Hopefully that makes a little sense.

ok guys got the exhaust ports done and all the casting seams and slag knocked down I'm just waiting for the gasket kit to come in so a couple of questions first thing is normally after a rebuild I would pressure wash the engine block to get all the shaving out but I live in Canada and it is igloo season so I cant use my pressure washer does anyone have any other ideas on how to clean it out. Also is there a point in me blocking the exhaust relive holes I have read a couple of things on here about it just not sure if it's worth the risk of the epoxy coming out and going throw my motor. And is there anything else anyone can think of to get more out of the motor internally before I put it back together. Thanks
