    Usually when exhaust ports r raised then most like to add little compression to make up for bottom end loss and makes for a great powerband

    Thank you for advice much appreciated, blew my 225 up in tournament this past weekend (rod smashed hole in block). Now trying to decide witch motor to put on boat,have an 1981 Johnson 150, and a 1985 Johnson 140-v4. Any suggestions? Also need a v-6 looper powerhead to go on my 1990 mid section if anyone is selling one around Georgia. Thank everyone for advice and suggestions. Enjoy Safe happy screaming&flying peace I’m out!��

    What is highest rpm’s you can spin an 81,omc,150. Is it safe to surface a chopper with this engine. Only has exhaust relievers opened up and exhaust holes (can plug) drilled in lower unit. Want to put some pull over carbs on and set timing back from 28 to 24. Thank’s everyone, happy safe screaming and flying, love that checkmate!!

    Ok guys been a while I've been working on it slowly but surely. So I've got it all back together I put my air box, carbs butterfly's and reeds and reed cage from my 89 225 looper on to my 95 vindicator 200 which I have done the exhaust port work too. Now the issue I'm running into is I dont have the wiring harness that goes from the controls on the boat to the motor for the 95 vindicator but the wiring harness from my 89 225 looper is still installed in the boat both of which are the big red plug. I'm wounded if anyone knows if i can make this work these are the wires i have on the motor and on the boat.Click image for larger version.

    So after reviewing the drawings the red plug is 90 percent the same from motor to motor but there are 2 difference that I can tell one of which is the vro plug but I have deleted the vro so that shouldn't matter. The other is the tan wire in the motor I'm putting on the boat "95" is going to a vacuum switch and temp sensors and on the 89 motor that I'm trying to use the controller wires from go to a cut off switch and temp sensors so I need to know if the vacuum switch and cut off switch are one in the same. Thanks for the help
