300xs DBR 1.1 or 1.3 software
Who knows the difference between DBR 1.1 and 1.3 software for 300xs ? Live in Europe so I was afraid to send my only pcm to DBR (if shipping go wrong I can buy new one) so now bought a spare pcm in Europe with already DBR software on it seller was not sure if it was the 1.1 or 1.3 (he was almost sure the 1.3) he send it over to dbr in the winter of 2016-2017. Are the mods the same? Just replace air temp sensor place intake donut and install faceplate or alien cowling? What size hole I have to drill if I keep the stock cowling?
Can't wait to try it what gain it will giveLast edited by darkdream; 12-20-2018 at 06:47 AM.

Dark, It probably is the 1.3 with that late flash date. Yes the same procedure for the air sensor and intake ring. I did back to back tests on a friends 30 Skater and it showed no performance gains. I run the 1.3's om my 28 Skater, but have not done a back to back test on the 28. Post your results, please.

Thanks for your reply let know the gains in this topic topspeed now 110 mph with humpback 15x34 pitch. Did you have instructions were to put the temp sensor and how big the hole in cowling must be if I change the stock cowling with faceplate?

The temp sensor is just zip-tied to the top of the intake plenum (to the wires on top). The threaded hole where the temp sensor was is filled with an allen screw with an o-ring. The hole in the front of the cowl is 5" per Joe at DBR. I have not done the cowl hole, however, just replaced the cowl with Nass alien cowls.

Thanks again! Great info so air temp replacement is easy. Is there a big difference in performance between running modified stock cowl with front plate and Nass style alien cowling? And how much gain you get between bone stock and DBR flash? Hopefully it give me a few mph. Hard to find bigger props already run 15x34' 4 blades so will love the 6800 limiter.

Thanks, don't have the intake ring bought only the pcm. Think to buy the billet mad efi intake donut think it will be the same ring. Now have to think about whats better the expensive but really nice alien cowling, or modify the stock cowl

I just reciept a mad efi velocity stack and orderd a faceplate from Mike Nass. Now only looking for the right mods to do. Spoke to somebody who said replace air temp sensor only needed for first flashes 1.1 and no needed for 1.3 and heard about a mod to cool the fuel rail? Hopefully somebody can help me with clear instructions

Temp sensor re-positioning is required for the 1.3. Don't know about the fuel rail cooling.

Thanks for the reply so all the dbr flashes require this air temp replacement? Just afraid for damage if its not real needed for newer flashes. And thanks will do the same my fuel rail don't know Mercury did this only for the early xs engines but its easy to do
