You can take the brown tach lead and connect it to the rectifier stator (yellow wire) post. Then you can run the new style tachs. The older Mercs used distributor drive tachs.

It’s on a stand by the 35... haven’t found something to put it back on yet but it’s a good runner. Got the 35 not long ago out of a barn where it has set for 35 years

Yup blue decal for those years. Hartford WI or Barrie Ontario built, says on lower inside cowl tag.
