I have seen lots of Yamaha watercraft driveshaft coupler dampener covers break due to white corrosion grown around the bolt shank and threads not stuck. i have also seen this on seadoo carb allen head bolts I have had pretty good luck drilling small pilot hole down beside bolt with head broken off and dripping some muriatic acid down hole with eye dropper then when apart neutralizing with baking soda and water. just saying has worked for me also has not.

I will hopefully get som wrenching time this weekend, so I will keep you posted as i get the powerhead off. I am not to concerned (yet) about getting the broken bolts out when the powerhead is off. But thank you so much for your help so far! This forum is great!

I drilled small hole down beside threads. Your probably going to end up destroying it anyway like stated above.
Is the AETO there like here in states? I ran into Yamaha service rep at local dealer friends and he said if any info needed Leave Yamaha out no info no help no reference for parts. He said they were the first Yam outboards in the states. Be careful with that acid its no joke and fumes are horrible but it eats aluminum corrosion like lunch. so does the old tidy bowl toilet cleaner.Last edited by Don Dieago; 12-17-2018 at 06:41 PM.
