Vintage Race Boat Regatta in Florida March 15-17, 2019

The Florida Vintage Raceboat Club will be hosting its Spring Thunder regatta on March 15-17 at Wooten Pak, Tavares Florida. Boats ranging from small outboards up through alcohol burning blown GP hydros will be both on display and running heats on Lake Dora Saturday and Sunday. This event is open to the public for free viewing. Participation is open to boats that meet the APBA vintage rules, criteria and safety requirements and inspection.

Friday the boats will arrive and tech inspections will be done. Heats will start at 9 AM Saturday and run all day long, with a one hour lunch break. Sunday the heats will resume late morning.

Pit passes will be available during the lunch break both days to get up close to the hardware and talk to the vintage drivers( yes that does mean OLD in most cases) . Check out our website at www.fvrc.club. Come join the action and help support Vintage raceboats !!!

Tom is this a new group running the old Spring meeting. Will there also be a fall gathering?

yes the FVRC has taken over the spring and fall regattas at Wooten Park. We just held our November event and looking forward to the March event.

What is the nearest bigger town for hotel rooms , food and such??? What goes on Saturday and Sunday, either day better, not to miss????

Hotel rooms ,food and bars are right at the location. Saturday was the best day but Sunday was also good- This is a great venue.
