Closing in on the end game.seat box cover is in glass, and new SS hinge installed.Gusets for seat locking pins installed, stringer outer doublers installed and rear drains cut in.Im not happy with the looks of the gas peddle mount,so a little more work is needed there. And lastly more sanding!!!Oh,at some point soon,a new battery box needs to be built.

The seat box lid is excellent Bob!!! Lots of room in there for stuff and quick access.

I like the idea of the aluminum block for the plug. I've been thinking of non wood ways to do mine.

Just want to be sure no water finds its way in.Right in front of the plug you will see a puddle of clear resin, that sits right on top of the bottom 1/2" of balsa. That will be left clear, you can see through it like a window. If water ever finds its way to the core I'll be able to see it by the color change.Needs to be sanded and buffed but you can get an idea from the picture.

My viper has no wood there, just glass. I was going to do the same with me vking. About 3/8 thick. A aluminum plate is not a bad idea!

I haven't commented on this thread since you made it clear on page two, that you were sharing how you were doing it and it wasn't up for debate. After all, there is more than one way to skin a cat. Considering how and where the hull broke though, I have to ask, how are you going to finish the middle two stringers?

Greg, are you asking about the two center stringers behind the seat box?
