Well,I concede.Almost!!
Well after thirty eight years I've come to the conclusion that old "Outasite" needed a core.Started back in 2017 at the power tour.Yours truly decided to dick around with a barge wake,BAD MOVE! A cracked stringer was my reward. That winter a repair was done and all seemed well, until the Hardy party this summer. After a great day of BSing I headed for the launch, rounded a curve and there was a mile and a half of great looking river! What's a guy to do! Got it setup at 80+ and settled in for the ride. With no boats in sight I took a moment to check out the seanery. Then HOLY ****! where in the hell did that roller come from.Kicked it right at the last second, and come down HARD on the left front.Heard a noise that I've never heard before.Turns out it was breaking fiberglass Now with two broken stringers and four feet of cracked flooring it's time to get serious.I assumed rot but as it turns out most of my issues were from impact damage from years of using a drag boat as a lake boat. The rebuild is under way and I'm finding very little rot.from the seat box back one spot the size of a basketball the rest looks as if it was done last month. And let me tell ya core that is not rotten is a total bitch to remove.Ive now found the procedure that's is working for me.So anyway a full on recore is in progress.A few pictures to follow.

She cracked at a "hard point" it flexed fine ahead of the stringer. Not so well at the start of the stringer. Run the stringers full length next time.

That's similar to what happened to the broken v-king I have. I agree, extend the stringers.

Forword of the seat box the hull gets thin quick. This hull was never intended for big water,it was 446# as delivered.Ive been fortunate that it's held up as well as it has.It flexed at the seat box.Ill be addressing that issue.

Ya this sucks ! The best I can do is to cut a grid about the size of a pack of cigarettes, then pop or pry,or cut, grind,or or or.Good news is,it's going to be a long winter,AND I'm retired!

I also think that these boats were not made for the power and abuse we put them through today........ Heck, a polished sportmaster didn't even exist.....
GL, It will be better and stronger then new when done.......

They definately were not intended for the power we have today! As Pip has said, he never thought that anybody would be running them 40 years later when he built them!
