    2.5 opti to older 15'' mid

    WILL 2.5 opti and matching adaptor plate bolt up to a older 2.5 15'' cut mid? i guess i need to know if the bolt pattern on bottom of 2 pc plate is a standard 2.5 pattern?

    Bolt pattern matching is likely not going to be your main issue unless you already have the correct adapter with a water supply for the compressor. And yes they are a bit more complicated than a standard efi.

    HeeHee .. Complicatet is not the word.....Sleepless nightmares....comes to mind.... I like my runny nose carbs.....Jets and float bowls......Gas is cheeper than Optiyboom....Just Me saying...

    Once you make the jump to the opti's it's not that big of a deal to work on them. There is a learning curve and it can be intimidating, but you have to read a bit in the manual to be able to interpret what the symptoms of a problem indicate as a fix.

    While I agree simple is better these things aren't that bad. Also once you get use to the fuel savings you won't want to go back.

    The 2.5 opti is a great motor. They rip but do require good fuel in order to live. There were only about 150 of them made. Scott Porta has created the jigs and process to modify a 2.5 can so that it will accept a 3L case-this will give you the good water pump ability and the 2.5 opti already has a 13 spline crank to accept a 3L drive shaft.
