Adding Power Steering To A 1275V Helm!!

If I remember correctly its been a while but you will need wire to accept and a 30 or 50amp fuse or circuit breaker.

Thanks for the tip. I will check it out when I hopefully get the boat in the garage over the winter.
    Thanks

Verado kit comes with hoses and harness. you wind up with 4 hoses from the helm to wherever your mounting the pump, bilge is logical. J box for harness and yes 12 volts not really a big job.

Thanks for the manual and your input

Like Joe stated, the Verado pump from Paul Everett is the way to go. You also need a new Char Lynn helm. Paul can get that as well. I put the system on my 28 skater. Great addition!

I didn't know that I would have to change my helm. What helm did you use? Do you have an e-mail address for Paul, so that I can contact him to get his recommendations?
    Thanks

Above is the website. Got my Char Lynn helm from Everett. It is a valve sort of like front end loaders use, not a pump like a Capalino helm. Uses four hoses to the pump and rams. He will know the proper size based upon your ram capacities. The hole in the dash is different size so you will have to fill-in some wood, etc. to make it mount. Everett has a bezel to cover the hole so it looks great.

I sent Paul an e-mail last week but I did not hear back from him yet. I've busy at work but I will try calling him when things slow down a little.
    Thanks

Paul is a great rep. and very knowledgable. He's an ex-boat builder himself from Ohio when younger. Hope all is well with Paul, he's no spring chicken.

I made a deal with Glenn on it but I wanted make sure that it had enough CCs. His is 75cc and Paul recommended an 80cc along with the Verado pump. Thoughts?
    Thanks

    Hydro,
The 75CC vs. 80CC in negligible in my opinion. the smaller capacity helm will flow approximately 9% less flow per steering wheel revolution. Not much! You made a great deal!

That is what I was thinking. I still plan to but a Zeiger tilt helm and adaptors from Paul though.
    Thanks for your input

Hydro, I have the Zeiger tilt helm as well. Seems the only time i use it is when docking and sitting up high in the seat in my 28 Skater to get a better view. I'm glad I have it, but the cost vs. benefit now is questionable.

I had a SeaStar Pro Sport Tilt helm in several boats including my first 22MTR but my previous and current ones didn't have it. I missed it especially when docking or loading it on the lift or trailer to gett it lined up properly. Plus it looks great as well. I will post some photos of it in a couple of months when I get it installed.
    Thanks
    Gary
