    Injectors serviced

I have an 1995 200 xri FF block that i just bought several months ago and it didn't run right. The guy i bought it from said he had problems with the way it ran and spent a bunch of money on it and that they changed a couple injectors in it. Well i have since changed the switch boxes which helped but main culprit was computer and electric fuel pump and from the looks of the work that was done on it looks laike a hack job. Computer was not even for that motor so i was wondering if i need to pull injectors and get them serviced and checked....looking for opinions...seems to run fine but you never know.

If you choose to have your injectors cleaned , serviced , and calibrated I’ve used Brucato for 20+ years with excellent service ...

Could be a frakenmotor.... best to start off with the parts book and make sure all the parts on it are correct. Do a compression check, pull the heads and measure the ports to see if it had been modded. Guy before you didn't know for sure what he had so niether do you..... old motor, anything could have been done to it. Like Jay said, Brucato is the place to send injectors. Compression and leak down tests are in order too. Tear down to reeds also to be sure none are broken.

I bought a 1996 175 EFI years ago and before even putting it on the boat I stripped it down, sent the injectors ot, replaced the fuel pummp and put CCM reeds in it. Blindly buying a motolr comes with risks.... higher risks if you don't get anal with it.

Started tearing it apart today and at least all the injectors are the same color...lol..they look fairly new as well. Guess while i have it this far apart might as well get a set CC reeds and block stuffers. Manifold cover was soak in gas as well as fuel and oil running out of bolt holes.

What is the service interval on having injectors flowed? ...Is sitting for 1 winter enough to gum them up?

Usually about every 1000 hours unless you get them gummed up or a bunch of water or trash in the fuel system. EFI fuel systems are sealed on the pressure side, so the fuel tends to last longer, mostly the fuel goes south in the fuel resevoir first. Depending on the type of gas used, 4 - 6 months would be the limit with efi.... Just winterize the fuel system before putting it away for the winter to be sure. Run a small tank with a stabiliser mix such as Stabil then fog the intake and cylinders.
