Champion 190
So i purchased a 1998 champion 190 fish & ski with a mercury 200 efi about a month ago. Like the design of the boat a lot,the gentleman i purchased it from said it runs 70mph. I am doing some winter mods to motor-heads/tuner/reeds/6 inch set back. Looking for feedback of anyone who has owned or ran this style boat. Thank you

I have owned several Champions and currently have Champion Swift. Very good, easy to drive boats. Only issue I have seen is the transoms can be iffy so keep an eye on it. Well built boat that should give you good service.

I have a 1995 190 dual console champion with a 200xri efi turning a 25 tempest plus 8" rapid jack jackplate and only running 63 mph gps with full tank fuel and all fishing gear and 2 guys. Prop slip is around 16-17% slip i need to get prop worked on. I have a 1989 176 champ also.

I have a 202 Champion and love the boat, have had it almost 16 years. Keep the transom sealed up good, no other issues at all, great boats. 70 mph is probably optimistic, guessing that is speedo reading. Setup right im guessing 65ish, and should be easy to drive at those speeds. Rough water ride is simply amazing imho

The 1995 and 1996 202's where the faster ones as they where the skinny ones, friend has a 202 with a 200 on it and it will run 69 gps by himself and loaded light. Loaded and 2 people he runs around 65 gps. Yea im told it should be around 66 to 68 loaded on my 190.

Mine is a 97 model, approx 92 inch beam. I have a stock 225efi 3 litre, pushes it 77-78 light fishing load. Best prop by far is a 27p. t-1 yamaha worked by mark croxton

My 190 is 92 inch beam, im running a stock out of the box 25 tempest and have lots of prop slip and it will eventually get sent off to be worked. Im still working bugs out of motor and setup, last time out tach stopped working so put new tach in and haven't been back out.

I was hoping to get some feedback on motor height. How much Above or Below the pad

Start at 3 1/2 inches prop to pad and go from there either up or down and watch water pressure if you go up. You can go up till either you lose speed and or water pressure but the is no set of numbers for any boat as mine would run different prop to pad than yours.

Yup, mine likes 3 1/4, below pad, with 10" setback. I lost bite before water pressure when going up. I dont have low water pickups

I think im somewhere around 3 1/2- 3 3/4 inch prop to pad with an 8 inch plate.
