    Cutting and welding driveshafts

Got a 25 in lower and need a 20 in. Anybody had success cutting and welding shafts? I think i could make a jig to keep it inline while it was being welded. Any tips?

Chris Carson - Are yall capable of heat treating?

Are the driveshafts on 59" merc 3 cylinders heat treatable? I know they have the spin welds from the factory, wasn't sure if the lower part of the shaft was a different alloy or not.

    Thanks,

    Jim
