    Donzi 22 limited edition

Hey folks I am looking for opinions of those in the know concerning a boat I am looking at purchasing possibly as soon as this week. The boat is a 1995 22 ft Donzi with a rebuilt blown 502 BBC, the seller is claiming well over 600 hp and by all rights it should very easily accomplish that with pushing nothing. When the engine was rebuilt all the components in the lower end are Scat with 4 bolt mains and good rods, its a full roller cam and rockers, AFR aluminum heads etc. the Blower I believe is a BDS, (Blower Drive Systems). The boat has headers and they go through the transom. The drive is a Bravo 1 with an Imco 2.5" Shorty lower unit, the boat comes with a 5 blade SS prop I think the owner was saying its lie a 26" pitch. Oh I almost forgot the carb on the engine is an 850 cfm Quick Fuel, and the engine has 22 hours on it since its rebuild. All the pieces look pretty good to my highly untrained eye and that is hopefully where your knowledge comes in, What should I be looking at concerning the boat and its rigging to make sure that its not going to be a problem, well any more than normal. The seller is asking 25K for the boat with a tandem axle trailer, boat and trailer look beautiful as far appearance.

Please let me know your concerns and thoughts PLEASE!!!

    Thanks much

    Donzi

Hello Team Supra great to hear from you, I am very pleased to say I mailed out the signed contract for the boat this morning! Now (and this is going to drive me crazy) I have to wait till spring to run over to Green bay to pick the boat up, by then we will have hopefully lost a few feet of ICE on the lakes and I can use it. The deal we struck on the boat seemed like a very fair deal for both parties and I think its going to be a very fun new toy to learn how to play with. I have been reading online every night about props, lower units, gearing, how deep to most efficiently run you prop, all of that stuff. Team Supra there are a couple terms I dont know what they mean, one is a lower unit shower? and getting your props or outdrive labed? When I started getting into this I was very upfront in saying I dont know much about boats like this because my back ground is in bigger outboards, I am pretty sure these terms dont exist in that world team Supra, SO, with that said what the heck do these mean?

Drive shower is just a tube or braided line that moves water to the top bearing. Prop lab finishing just cleans it up gets it back to blue print. Thins the blades but also makes blades weaker. We drove to Green Bay 10 years ago in January in a blizzard and -3 degrees to buy our cougar

I take it this us a Donzi ZX 22? Not a Donzi Classic 22? Price seems high for a 1995 with a carb motor, especially if it's a classic. I sold my 22 Donzi Classic 1996 w EFI BB for 15k a year ago.
