I heard she hit something and it removed the rear tire/suspension. No brakes. Woman drivers....

Didn't kill anyone which is amazing! Sophia Florsh has surgery tomorrow on a vertebrae but other wise is doing okay from what I read.

Saw that earlier today. She isn't even on the track before the corner. Mechanical failure?

She is lucky she hit going backwards. I'd hate to have seen what would have happened if she went into that barrier head on.
    5 people injured in all.
    Slow Mo of the wreck.

    More on the wreck.

"‘Coming after Mandarin [the preceding right-hand kink], I saw the yellow, but I think it was just a mistake by the organisers’ station. ‘Sophia was really close to Jehan, so when Jehan braked early she had no time to react. ‘She hit Jehan’s right-rear, and that spun her around straight into Lisboa, and she flew into the other car."

Look what it says on the sidepod of her car, kinda ironic.
    https://www.autosport.com/f3/news/14...in-macau-crash

"Florsch hit the back of 15th-placed Jehan Daruvala on the flat-out run to Lisboa, and sustained damage to her Van Amersfoort Racing Dallara-Mercedes in the impact.

She hurtled out of control, and got launched over the inside kerb at Lisboa into the TOM'S Dallara-Toyota of Sho Tsuboi.

The impact fired her over the barrier and through the catch fencing into an area occupied by marshals and photographers.

The speed-trap figure before the Lisboa braking area shows that she was at 276.2km/h (171.6mph)."

The pink car squeezed her into the wall as I'm told just before the braking area, they touched tires and this is the end result. If you've never seen any of these modern GP cars on the brakes they have insane braking capabilities and very very short braking zones.

Think they said it was a 170 mph strait they were coming down on too. Depending on when the contact was made, she might not have even been into the brakes yet.

Lucky, Lucky, Lucky...I have seen two F1 races and you can't imagine it until you see them thread the needle at speed.

Same Joe, TV does absolutely no justice to what these cars are doing.
