    15 years ago..My 1984 25' Convincor OB Twin OMC/Evinrude

Never posted this when I got it...And was asked to post

"Do me favor when you have the time, sit down w/a beer (or 5) and make a thread of the history and pixs if your boat.
Id love to see it as would many others.
If you don’t like the lime light, blame me." <<<Insigator blame him

.15/14 years ago picked up my boat will post pics of over the years a handful at a time.
Spent a lot of time looking for this!
After selling my 380 lazer w bridgeport 2.4 that we totally redid(would have posted that but was before SNF) I was w/o a boat for a few years
(should have gotten rid of the reason i sold it first and kept the boat)But heres pics of the day a got it.

I'm not rushing making sure I don't miss anything was alot done to them and was having a problem with temp...not over heating really
gauges are showing higher than my gun by 20- 30* and have been going back and forth checking stuff and to the ramp.
Water on the hose(in the water it's fine) isn't great all new water pumps etc and was fine with the other heads so paronoid..since one of my other motors ate a Reed stop don't have backups..and $$$ they would cost

My seats were redone by previous owner and are ****.

Vinyl is probably salvageable but wood is falling apart w/screws sticking out everywhere.

Screws sticking out! Damn don't need to find out the hard way. Hopefully the vinyl is salvagable and you just need to rebuild seats..
The seats that were in the boat were nice just to damn big and weighed a ton about 150 a piece so they had to go..
Wanted to make new ones but don't have a sewing machine anymore and between materials to make the shells then getting a machine was not i the budget..
Have access for molds to these but not sure they'll fit right

After a quick look over the boat before I took it out looking for the good and the bad.
I bought the boat on eBay with a little faith didn't have to pay until I looked at it and was happy it was as described so..
Was as described and better was willing to do work because it was what I wanted..Not as much as someone is doing but.
    Good
    - motors start with a tap of the keys
-motors said they were 200s are 225s
    -solid mounts
-low water pickups installed right didn't fine Bondo(now I
    have to touch up paint)
    -motors were Clean
-props were worked by the original spinelli prop shop
-transom floor etc solid, transom was redone
-motors rebuilt wiseco pistons and some other work done
-everything works(so know somethings going to happen when I go out)
-wiring in good shape(bad not real neat and about 12' of extra wire in the harnesses thats annoying)

Bad-interior in cabin is in great shape but the interior is original herculan durable as hell but not comfortable at all.
    Has to be changed
-front seats are to big they come out.
-Not bad but..All the cabin is still there(seat backs with shelves etc) means it has to come out just extra unnecessary weight.
So nothing really bad just cosmetic! Was really happy

So first thing was to pull out the extra stuff in the cabin.
All the herculan ripped out Changed to plain white vinyl
Seat backs(plywood backs and shelves Behind bench seats)
Cut out one bulkhead dug out all the foam and added more storage
    BUT left the fur ceiling!

Took out the heavy a$$ front seats and replaced with some i picked up new but CHEAP ..was supposed to be temporary that was 11 years ago so still working on that.
Cut the bench to take out all the unneeded ply, mostly so i could take the bench seat in and out easier and put the hatch on.
    Replaced the carpet
Installed interior led lights stereo etc..

Of course i cant seem to get the better pics to uploaded for some reason but

Oh another reason i like the old Evinrude is the shifter has a screw at the linkage..
So running up and down a 10 mile section of the hudson river making laps all day long in 4' conditions in the middle of the river(its been about 5/6 years ive had the boat so had it running real well nice top speed etc)
PROBLEM was there was a big storm a few days earlier and i didnt see the rear end of a dually bobbing just at the surface of the water...
The reason i like the screw..i just replaced the lower units(even half assed the paint just to get it in the water for the week after it had been raining most of the summer)
I thought i missed it it but about 30 seconds later the boat made a hard turn to the right..

and this happensClick image for larger version.

so yea would have been a brand new coned lower unit at the bottom of the river..luckily just trimmed it up threw a rope around it and called it a day.
At least there was rubber on the damn thing and it just broke the mid.
But it did trash my prop the other blade had a crack starting to go thru it..and spinelli props were out of business

I will say this even with this happening i had one hell of a great day!! everyone at the dock was more bummed than i was kept telling them at least its the easier/cheaper fix and amount of work..lower units still there and had a spare prop at least

Thanks, cant get the better pics of the cabin and stuff done inside to upload.
The wrong pics are loading, the pic of the heads where supposed to be the bulkhead i cut out/modified and all the foam under the bed i took out and epoxy painted all of it for storage..
Having technical difficulties all the pics are on the computer i havent been using and its not cooperating!
spending time tryng to get all the pics together 15 years think they are on 6 different devices..just uploading them all to cloud storage.

Ok ill upload pics more often keep working!
Do you have a plan for your cabin yet or?
Going to change it alot for your setup, camping etc?
    Your Gas tank looks great!

Thats one reason i made the hatch all the extra storage(taking out the bench and swapping saves some weigh) and easy as hell for things like the week at the romp/camping to just throw everything in then just unpack. I dont do it much i usually have as little in the boat as possible but nice to be able to do
