Not mine, saw it online and actually saw it in person. Happy to provide some thoughts if you want to reach out.

hmmm "Your item will be shipped via USPS Mail, UPS or Fed Ex (Depending on the item and destination) Delivery Confirmation Number/Tracking & Signature Confirmation are always included. Insurance will be included to the price of the items with price range above the $100.00 USD. ( Lately we have seen an increase in damaged packages from UPS and USPS)"
scam? 6 grand to paypal? cash?

It’s a confusing ad - they basically won’t ship so you have to pick it up in person (or go there, pay, and arrange your own shipping). I was tempted as I’m there a lot but a few members scared me with some structural stories from that streams of that vintage

Hey there,
this boat has caught my serious attention and would love any information because I live 700 miles away from it.
how did that hull look like to you? Did you see any sign moisture/damage? Did the boat look as clean as the pictures? It being a 1991 I’m hoping it’s in decent shape.
Thanks in advance.

I thought it was quite clean actually, but I'm clearly no expert as I managed to buy a Checkmate that was inspected but turned out to have some rot (lawsuit time).
IMO it was typical "dry" CA boat, so no mold, etc that you find in stuff in the midwest/south as they have such little rain and humidity. I would guess some of the wood in the seats, etc would need replaced at some point just due to that. Sadly I deleted the extra pics I took of it or I would have shared them. The trailer was in pretty good shape too. The challenge with this is the pawn shop unknowns (and ebay)... If you pay for an inspection then bid and get outbid you lose the inspection $. I would have preferred to be able to say "I'll buy it for X if the inspection clears, arrange for that, and not be worried about being outbid during the inspection, etc...
Also there is the caveat that it's a Hydro from the 90's, most people are telling me you might be ok, but build quality is low so better off to factor a recore, etc to bring it up to better standards. At some point the cost of the boat + redo might be better than trying to find a nicer/newer one though

Always spend the $ to get it surveyed if you aren't available to see it first hand. Even just a structure survey, without electrical or mechanical. If the seller isn't up to it offer a low token amount for the boat on delivery or walk away.

I ended up buying this boat. To me it seemed in good shape. Yeah the plywood in the seats will be replaced. But I examined the hull/transom couldn’t find any flaws. And I walked out of there for 4500 dollars which I think is a steal. I’ll post some photos after I brought it home and washed it

4500 seems like a deal, good luck with the boat.
