Didnt even know about the boat race???

Their boats are badd ass though! IMO, the baddest O/Bs on the planet.
Where O/B drag is big over here, they put two lunatics on skis down there, throw a brick on the gas pedal and let er rip!

Saw a vintage, short clip surface recently that was of a vee bottom w/twin OMC F-1 V-8s on it!
Check out some of their trailers too. Over the top, no rules, no limits.

The Bridge to Bridge is on my shrinking bucket list.
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

I like how he is feathering the gas at 120+ ...and rolls it up to 130 with ease. In the turns, I'm thinking to myself, this thing trips and they are in a big hurt. You definitely need quite the pair to get behind the wheel of one of these. Did watch it to the end when he came off the gas and it started chine walking? Crazy...

How about the twin or triple O/B capsule boat he passes at the start?

funny coincidence, (if you are referring to the Bertels Scan Carrier that had 2 offshore v8's), I just did a T750 race in Hong Kong and one of the other drivers skiied behind that in the Bridge to Bridge all those years ago, small world

I think the ski racing is now limited to 120mph?
They were knocking on the door of 140 prior to that
I think the coroner told them to slow down, it was kept quiet but there was a nasty death of a skiier in front of the crowd at a finish line at the grafton bridge.

You know, I caught that and it didn’t register.

I think I did read somewhere that they were slowing down the skiers.
