    What lower unit is that? Exhaust snout looks way big.

    The 1/1 off of a stinger. It may of been like a 14/15 I can't remember, but it was legal because you didn't need reverse for U-I . Who new that guy would go on to be famous.

    If you notice, there is a person standing behind the engine, you can see their feet and legs under the rear of the trailer. Safe bet that it is D.F. Jenkins. He built OMC V-4's that kicked butt. Like the one on that little red rocket!

    The exhaust change that was approved was that you could replace the original flat stainless inner exhaust plate with the cast one with the angled baffles from the 1969 and later V4s. It was worth 2 or 3 horse. Taking out the gussets between the exhaust ports was worth a couple more and was commonly done, but it wasn't legal.
