I will move transducer and try. Yes I have new working pressure gauge runs close to 30psi trimmed up at wot.
I have had transducers all over place but i will move it again and remeasure engine. I just jacked it until I liked it.
Will reassess both.
Thanks

If your prop is buried deep enough the disturbance from the transducer may be above it...

Gorden didnt want to comment until I looked this morning and transducer in front of engine is 1 inch above boat bottom and out of water on plane. shouldn't that be ok? my hull has three steps from bottom to transom and trans is on middle step The 2d trans is 1/8th below bottom but about 16-18 to left of center line

The water kicks up immediately after the back of the boats running surface. That transducer is disturbing the water going to the prop. I put my transducer on my ride plate as far forward as it would go. The ride plate is high above the prop.

Ok I'm dumber than I thought I was! Wait! that didn't come out right!
Anyway according to yalls formula I am 6'' below bottom of boat. I will move trans and jack it up to 4.5 and try it.
i know yall said 3 but I jacked the old rude I had on there up
until still had pressure and it ran the best but then one day wind really got up and had 2' waves and I couldn't go anywhere.
Hope all goes well so I can fill all the holes strip and paint. Its wearing me out trying to work and get boat finished. Im very inpatient person. installed 6 all new Yamaha gauges today and adjusted trim sender. Now im eating popcorn and reading the scream n fly newspaper.Last edited by Don Dieago; 10-30-2018 at 07:58 PM.

Don, good plan. Keep the changes small and document every change. I've spent years and made hundreds of changes to my boats and outboards through the years. Some worked, some didn't. Don't let us keep you from having fun and learning. Not every boat needs to run 60. The guys here are great and just like a neighborhood, we all want to help!
Don't pull your hair out either, be sure to have fun. Your V-hull is not going to break any speed records. The hull was designed to provide a smooth ride in rough water. My boat's rear deck is just 2" above the waterline, so I'm not going out in rough water like you can. Keep us posted! Gordon
