Cowling hood pin
Hey guys,
Either I am searching all the wrong things or... But I have seen multiple motors with a Cowling pin up top, I assume/read this helps to support the weight of the cowl off on the pan and also help keep it on in rough conditions.
Does someone sell these as a kit? or can someone give me instructions to make up one myself so there is less chance I mess up on my own?

Depends on the cowl you have, 2.5 and Alien show up for sale in miss parts quite often. The early Formula and Bridgeport style are very rare, I made my own.

Pretty easy to fab. A quick search turns up plenty, even the part number for the factory kit if you don’t care to “roll your own!”

Thanks guys. I tried searching but I guess my wording was just off.
I have no issue making one up myself, just wondered if anyone had the instructions to make it quicker. I need to do some Fab work anyways so may as well tackle this too.
Repairing my pan as it is so don't want to have to do it again

Could anyone measure an existing one they have to let me know the height of the actual bracket upright?

Still have not said what cowl you have.
