I was out yesterday and didn't see any logs floating and the water level is great. There are some stumps that are lodged in the river that everyone will have to keep an eye out for.

The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

Sometimes dead trees get lodged in the river bottom and are just poking out of the water a few inches and unmarked . Keep your eyes on the water and you'll see them most times near the bank but take it easy they could be anywhere , you never know .
Sometimes locals will mark them with a milk jug or something but don't bet on it . Never run close to the shore on the Suwannee ." The Fleet of Old Boats "

Exactly what tom said. There seem to be more heading down from fanning to the gulf than going back up towards the Santa fe. The surge from the hurricane and then the out flow from it has seem to cleared up the floating debris pretty well. Should be a great run. Just keep your eyes open and stay away from the banks while running.

I vote for running North on Friday instead of the usual South so that we can limit the risk of any additional mishaps. The run North two days in a row is still one of the best rides available. Elly Rays might be able to handle the small group on Friday because we already know how Saturdays go-infact I am going to give them a call so that they have a full week to get employees and food ready.

The owner of Ellie Rays was really appreciative of the heads up. He is going to try and have extra staff on hand.

Hey guys. This is my first run on the Suwannee and it sounds like a great time. How far are the runs North and South? What hotel do mst of the boaters use? And last, what time is the crowd leaving the landing on Friday? Sorry for all of the questions, just want to be prepared. Look forward to meeting every one.
