Merc 2.5 Electronics

I'm about to pick up a 2.4l 200 powerhead, and the guy said he has a 2.5 with a blown piston minus the electronics he will throw in for a couple hundred bucks. (both carb motors)
Can I use the electronics off the 2.4? or what's the chances getting 2.5 electronics cheap?

You can use the 2.4 electronics on the 2.5.

Yes my 2.5 has all 16amp 2.4. Also prob sheds little weight

Thanks guys. My plan is to run the 2.4 and modify the 2.5. Still want to find a second set of electronics but just incase I don't in time I'll use my current 2.4 ones.

I have a full set of electronics from a 1995 2.5 carbed 175hp. Guaranteed to work as the engine seized due to a main crank bearing failure. I also have older stator, switch boxes and trigger if interested in cheaper older electronics that still work. I forget the small differences between the 175 and 200, not sure if it will work or if it is even any different.
