What has happened to this site??

It has been years since I posted on this site. In the "old days" if help was requested on an engine problem a bunch of guys were kind enough to jump in and assist. Are the old timers not on here any longer or has something just changed? Been checkin in on here since 99. Still best, and only site for boating enthusiasts.

I don't see a lot of posters asking for help and not getting it. We also have single digit posters asking questions, and then not responding when members respond. That is frustrating... Wastes peoples time...Sometimes guys ask questions that really have no definite way of being answered. The new motors are getting tough to be diagnosed w/o a scan tool hooked up and running a code scan.

Facebook . Its like what walmart did to the mom and pop shops across america. People get a lil bit of all their interests on FB now so why come here when all the content they need in a persons particular hobby's or interests are on that site now. I agree that things have changed. For example, hot boat gatherings are being posted here fewer and fewer. A couple weeks ago there was a hot boat gathering in Palatcka florida and there was no thread here about it with after pics etc. Also Full Throttle Power boats designed and is now producing a new model of outboard drag boat that most including myself had no idea existed until a few days ago when pics were posted from Jasper races. In years past there would have been pages and pages of talk prior to and after a gathering in Palatka and the new design from Jack would have been discussed as well but was not. Its a shame but im just glad SF is still here

You ask this question yet you yourself admit you havent posted on this site in YEARS??????? Then question what has happened to this site??? Did I miss something here??? As far as the old timers well they got tired of people asking for help then get smacked in the face by someone that asked the question then all of a sudden they dont agree or POOF they know more than a seasoned person does.??? Dont respond back or turn it into a well Google says this and this site said that etc etc etc.

I haven't been a member long enough to know about the early yrs of s&f ,but I absolutely love this place and 95% of the guys that post are what I call regulars and are glad to help anyone. But when that guy that has 1 post askin about a prob and you possibly fix it over the internet then poof, they gone. As I'm not the most knowledgable on here but by no means a rookie, I'll try answer anyone's ? Then again if I'm not sure of the question. I rather not answer then lead the fellow Into possibly tearing his motor up. Like xstream said pretty much. This is the best boating site on the net!! You could go ask a question on another certain site and just get told ur posting n wrong fourm or wont help without a serial # thought I just needed put my .02 in on this one as I believe lots of folks feel same way as me !!!

I think I did mention that this is the BEST.... boating site on the ole innerwebs , I dnt do Facebook so wouldn't know what's on there but this is my Facebook. (What my wife tells me anyway) great group tite nit guys I think , 98% of people asking for help gets it within a hour. To finalize this up ... what's happened is this site has growed and got bigger and better over the years

No clue what you are talking about “goggle this or that”. I may have not posted for sometime but have looked at posts everyday for almost TWENTY YEARS. Sorry I ruffled your hair. Simple question and you answered it although a little rough. Might want to look at my last sentence before you go off the edge. Thanks to those that have posted trying to assist me. I’m not one of those who thinks they know more than guys trying to help. If that was true I wouldn’t have asked for help in the first place. I’ll go back to just lookin from a distance.

I think everything is good ! I also do believe that a few of us are a little defensive over the site! Then again opinions r like assholes , everyone has 1 and most of em stink! My feathers aren't ruffled at all but I do honestly believe this is still a great site and if someone needs help 9/10 times sumbody gonna b there with a reply. I'm not replying to ruffle feathers either. This is just my opinion on this site . This site hands out tens of thousands of $ worth of info and tech tips that the normal Joe blow would never know nething about. I've learned Tons and tons of stuff here. Well let me ask. Did you happen to have a prob and ask a question and didnt get a respond?

Jack’s boat has been known about in the drag racing world for a while now. For whatever reason outboard drag racing doesn’t get much attention around here, certainly not like 10 or 15 years ago.

S+F kinda went quiet in a long slow way. No fault of Gregs. Just the world in whole got worse. The economy got bad last 10 years. People started selling their boats,,,, that I would never thought they would sell. Bad storms, floods and wild fires. E bay died also.... sales are slow. Then people die...... and young bunch don't have the funds or intrest.......Just My imo....
