I have been trying to buy all my used parts from up north for that reason, the 1981 50hp gearcase housing i got from MN was like working with a new part... I ordered the 2.7L G2 tiller and lower mount shoe yesterday see if it fits.. That g2 swivel must cost a fortune to mfg compared to the std trim unit..

No grease goes there and the cap/ screws have o rings, but a shot of lps 3/grease or something like that would have helped prevent that for the most part, but that would cost 2cents more.. and now they pay 10000 times more on warranty , bean counters..

So that nipple doesn't feed the whole assembly and spill to the inner cap when full?

I believe theirs a service bulletin pertaining to those caps. They had a production issue where the o-rings were getting pinched and weren't sealing properly. But like Kevin said, 10 year warranty, who cares!
