So Morning Sport News, a team made up of local Police and State Troopers and some of their kids who play college hockey defeated the Blackhawk Hockey Club. The score was not really the thing it was the wonderful camaraderie both on the ice and in the stands. What a wonderful night seeing lots of Megan friends and many of the officers that I know and worked with. Another step forward.

Another little update. Megan is to the point where we tried the full steps to the basement. I have a pretty full gym there and figured on her off days when she doesn't have rehab I can get her on the bike or treadmill and even get some stretching and very light weight lifting. Shes excited and so am I to have a work out buddy

Another quick up date. Megan has been making steady progress forward. Has been off her seizure meds now and had another EEG done Monday to make sure there is no activity, Dr is not expecting to see any as this med was precautionary since the cardiac arrest caused the seizure. This coming Monday she gets her feeding tube removed as she has been eating solids since New Years, big step forward. Today we were invited to the Manchester Police Dept where they presented Megan with a check for $10,000 as donations from the hockey game. Couldnt be more proud of my fellow Law Enforcement and First Responders family.

So as uneventful of an event possible. They just pulled the feeding tube out her stomach and the inside part out her throat ugg. Stomach seals its self up and hour later shes drinking chocolate milk and eating Sweet Potato Casserole from Boston Market. Amazing what they can do. One of her IV sites was bothering her when we got home so she wanted some ice on it. So I put this bag of frozen peas on her hand and asked her what she wanted to do. Megan replied just gonna sit here like two peas in a pod. I so love this girls sense of humor. Every once in a while she has a melt down but after a little conformation that shes getting better every day shes fine.

Your doing great and supporting your daughter admirably imo. In the moments when people unravel and life begins to look down having caring support who can lift your spirits is SO HUGE on future outlook and overall personality/quality of life etc. This is a great thread, this whole forum is filled with great people Im feeling lucky to be here.
