Mercury 1.25" solid hub inserts
Does anyone know if its possible to purchase the 4 plastic/ teflon inserts that attach to the Mercury solid hub - #840389 K06? Is there a part number?
Thanks...Last edited by 4Speed; 10-12-2018 at 08:17 PM.

I expect the way to determine if they need replacement is to slide the hub into the prop and ensure its "snug" fit with no metal to metal contact(?)

I guess they could wear out but I've had more of a problem just keeping them glued on. I've even seen new hubs with the strips loose in the box.
I have experienced the same hub fitting tight in one prop but loose in another.
I think if all 4 of the snubber strips are attached to the hub and you torque the nut down properly, you will be fine.

I was thinking of trying some 5200 adhesive silicone to re glue my loose strips.

Is there a part number for the round plastic inner insert in the hub? Not sure if it wears down over time causing a little bit of play on the propshaft?
