Harris chain around Leesburg and Eustis is a lot of fun too.
We just bought a bungalow in Astor on a canal so the Talon will be spending a lot of time on the St. John’s. Once we get the boathouse rebuilt it will be sweet not having to deal with the over crowded ramps. Until then we launch it Friday night / Saturday morning and pull it out Sunday evening before we go back home. The local homeowners association has a private ramp which makes it nice and easy.

St. Johns south of Sanford is a ton of fun too. Caloosahatchee (sp) east of the locks by Alva. If you are into exploring you can put in to the St. Lucie at Stuart and cross the state to Fort Myers.

We put in at the Saint Lucie lock run out to the lake and over to Roland Martians about a 100 mile run with just a couple no wake zones

Thanks guys, just what I was looking for. I will be near Ft. Myers, so it looks like I could start at the Caloosahathee. St. Johns looks nice too.
Does Lake George connect to St. Johns?

Yes, Lk George is just North of Astor and has two great springs to check out (Silver Glen) and (Salt Spings). There are markers up the middle of the lake to keep you on track with the river inlet and outlet.

St. Johns runs through Lake George--it is essentially a really big wide spot in the river.

Okay... speaking of great waterways in Florida. Where would be a great location to host an endurance race like the Parker with ramp access, spectator area/beaches and 6-10+ mile course?
