If you just want to run fast in a straight line you can launch on the west side of Markham Park and go north to get to the very wide canal alongside the Sawgrass Expressway. Good place just to air it out, no scenery.
Or go out to Everglades Holiday Park west of Hwy 27 at Griffin Road. Miles and miles you can run, again no real scenery except natural Florida and if the water is low and the gators come out to the canals you have to watch for them.Per Rock:

The Markham thing is about a half mile narrow canal (really should idle, some campers have small boats alongside, but most don't) then a series of wide pools separated by short narrow connectors. When everything else in Broward turned to idle zones, my kids would go there on weekends to ski and board--just be sure that there were two or three boats in a pool to scare the gators back to shore, and both because of wildlife and rocks do not slalom out anywhere near shore.
You can launch on the South side of Markham and run the canal along State Road 84/I-75, but it is a little too narrow to run really fast and have room to recover if something goes bad.Per Rock:
