water in fuel alarm advice/help
Looking for advice please.. 2007 optimax engines. I've got SC1000 gauges, SC5000 vesselview, and merc monitors. Right now my merc mon. is telling me i have water in my fuel, However none of the other smartcraft devices are showing alarms. I also emptied the Fuel/water separator on the FSM, and did not see any water in the fuel. I'm not sure if I should replace the sensor just to rule it out, but then i question the fact that its not appearing on any of the other gauges. Could it be the merc monitor that's bad, or a wiring issue? any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Welcome to the site. Just change the water separator filter and then see where you stand. If all is well you have solved the problem. If issue persists then you need to dig deeper to find the gremlin.

Drain the vst. Water collects there like a water seperation filter.
Sensor or is easy to test. It’s an open circuit and water completes it or gunk might just need cleaned.'06 Tracker All-Fish/Tournament V-18 90 Optimax, 46.8 gps Goal one complete reach 45 mph.

I have drained the VST into a glass mason jar, no water that I could see.
To bypass the sensor and fool the computer, could i just put a small piece of wire like a bridge on the engine side connection?

my brand new motor with vesselview4 told me I had water in my fuel once.... then it went away. So who knows. Sorry, this post wasn't very helpful. Might have just been a fluke.
