    Tilt trim wireing

    I have newer style controls 1999 to a 1980 225 merc the pump wires are red blue and green I have blue/white green/white and 2 browns that where hooked up to tilt trim on side of motor anyone ever hooked up this way before?

    Blue and green are all you need to make trim work.

    OK so the red wire coming off the pump is not needed to be hooked up to anything? it has big red wire im asuming for positive power and big black wire for negitive power then 3 wires coming off it red,green,blue. Just dont want to blow anything

    I am assuming the big red and black wires are coming off the solenoids, not the pump and if so you are correct. Red pos. and black neg. The other three wires are red pos. blue to blue (or blu/white) and green to green. The wires in your hand are the blu and green. Brown and tan are not necessary for the trim to work.

    Yes big red and big black go to solenoids. Thanks for the help can i just put the small red to the positive on the battery? or any positive lead?

    Does not matter where you get the 12v. I would not use a purple wire as it is 12v key on.
