    Optimax charging issues

Hi everyone, I have my 2006 Optimax 150 not charging the batteries. This year model has an alternator but I wanted to know if there's other components to check, like an external (apart from alternator) volt regulator or fuses? I've been researching and the info I've come across is mixed with stator system Mercs. Any input will help. thanks

Ok, I’ll be ordering one. So the alternator has the voltage regulator built in?

Yep.It's an automotive type with all in one construction. Kill the power before working on it and watch for spacers/washers under the bolts when removing the old one. Some engines have them, some don't. Good time to inspect the belt also. Belts off so spin the compressor pulley to check for smoothness and for wobble of the shaft.

Yep, other then that is double check connections and battery since they go bad.

You can practicly take take it to autozone for testing

just remember the output is ~13 something not 14.7 like a car. They can load test the battery as well.

Have you tested right at the post on the alt? If you get a stupid crazy 18v reading check the 100 amp fuse. Also check for a signal to the rectifier. Dont just buy new parts to buy new parts.
